Before & Afters

Here are some before and afters of my apartment from a few months back...

Before:
entry way

After:
the chocolate brown really makes the white doors an molding stand out

Before:
notice all of the oddly place outlets and bright red fire alarm...

After:
by painting the fire alarm and all but one outlet, these distractions are less of an eye sore

Before:
the beige walls were doing nothing to accentuate our great red couches

After:
now we have a cozy little place that feel more like home :)

A stroll through Hobby Lobby...

What an inspiring place! Here are a few of the pictures I snapped on my camera phone:

For a girl who gets butterflies over color choices, what a great aisle to start!
I may have a new love for bird houses.
Door knobs! It reminded me a more cost effective Anthropologie.
These stamps would make a great motif for event invitations.
Love the contrast of the imitation barrel pots mixed with the high gloss blue!

hidden treasure...

One thing I love about living in Gainesville is driving down a road you've driven down several dozen times and discovering a gem like this. Somehow it managed to escape my eyes for the past four years.

M & M Upholstery doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is worth stopping by if you're in the neighborhood. Inside you will find used furniture in a variety of styles, from chairs and sofas to bookcases and dressers. Don't go in expecting to be wowed by tidiness, but do expect a plethora of low-priced furniture that can be refinished, reupholstered, or used as-is. If you aren't up for the DIY task of reupholstering a sofa then you're in luck because this store, as its name suggests, also does upholstering!

located on NW 6th Street across from Central Florida Office Plus (near the intersection at Univ. Ave)

burlap table runners with ruffle detail...

My beautiful cousin, Kristen, is getting married in just a few short months and has enlisted my help with an accent for the reception tables. She found these adorable  table runners on etsy.com (http://ny-image3.etsy.com/il_fullxfull.161766047.jpg) but realized we could make them for less! So thats where I come in...

... stay tuned for pictures and the step by step how-to!
